For the second time in ten days, Shakib Al Hasan has expressed his unwillingness to lead Bangladesh. This time, it was after the 224-run defeat to Afghanistan in the Chattogram Test, although he hinted that he was open to discussions with BCB chief Nazmul Hassan.”I think it will be ideal if I didn’t have to be the captain,” Shakib said. “From a personal point of view, it will be good for my cricket. Among the seniors, Mashrafe Mortaza is still the ODI captain, while Mahmudullah has led a few times in Shakib’s absence in Tests and T20Is in recent times. Tamim Iqbal led in Sri Lanka in the absence of Shakib and Mashrafe, but it is well known that the BCB doesn’t prefer him in the long term, while Mushfiqur has had a long stint as captain in all formats.Shakib, however, accepted that he would have to shoulder the major blame for Bangladesh’s disintegration on the fifth evening of the Chattogram Test. It was his needless cut shot, which he edged to wicketkeeper Afsar Zazai off Zahir Khan, off the first ball after a rain break that gave Afghanistan their big breakthrough.”I am really disappointed,” Shakib said. “We had four wickets in hand to bat out an hour and ten minutes. My first-ball dismissal made it difficult for the team. The responsibility lies with me. I think it would have been better had I not played that cut shot. It put the team under pressure. I should have taken up the job to spend more time at the crease, which would have made the dressing room more comfortable. Maybe we could have taken it close to a draw.”However, Shakib did say that some of the players displayed a real lack of game awareness, especially Mehidy and Soumya, who made crucial mistakes on the fifth evening. “The result shows we didn’t have the ability [to last 70 minutes]. Taijul [Islam] had inside-edged the ball to his pad, but since [Mehidy] Miraz had taken the review, he couldn’t use it. Even someone who has played cricket for one day would know that this was plumb out. If he hadn’t taken the review, Taijul could have used it. He defended well in the first innings.”When you see Soumya react like that after taking that run [to give No. 11 strike early in the over], you know that he isn’t sure of his role. There’s a lot to learn but I don’t know how long it will take them to learn.”

The Blues have splashed the cash under Todd Boehly, however, they actually remained quiet in the January window, despite plenty of speculation over a new forward. During the winter market, Armando Broja was sent out on loan to Fulham, leaving Nicolas Jackson as the only recognised senior striker available to Mauricio Pochettino for the remainder of the campaign.

Goals were a problem at Stamford Bridge earlier in the season, and currently, Chelsea have scored 44 league goals in 26 games, less than Brighton, Newcastle, Tottenham, Aston Villa, Arsenal, Manchester City and Liverpool.

If the Blues are to get back to their best over the coming years, then perhaps that added firepower is required – something that Osimhen would help with.

The Nigeria international has been heavily linked with a move to London, with journalist Sacha Tavolieri saying at the end of January that Osimhen has chosen to join Chelsea in the summer.

Since then, there have been reports that Chelsea are also working on ‘a multi-year contract’ for Osimhen – possibly for seven years – with a slightly improved salary compared to the current one at Napoli. That could be worth more than £90m between 2024 to 2031 in London, however, it looks as if a move to Chelsea isn’t guaranteed following a new update.

According to reliable reporter Miguel Delaney, writing for The Independent, Manchester United are now one ‘of the main contenders to land the signature’ of Osimhen alongside Paris Saint-Germain.

This will come as a blow for Chelsea, who are also named in the report as well as rivals Arsenal. The two still have an interest in the striker, ‘but changed situations at both PSG and United mean they are set to become big challengers’ Osimhen has a €110m release clause in his current Napoli contract, with the 25-year-old set to be the topic of one of the summer's major transfer sagas.

It looks as if Chelsea now have fierce competition for Osimhen after potentially thinking they were closing in on a deal in recent months.

Whoever wins the race for Osimhen will be getting a proven forward who has scored goals for fun in recent years, including a career-best 26 in Serie A last season, helping Napoli to the title.

There may well be further twists and turns over the coming months before the summer market opens for business, but right now, it looks as if Chelsea are behind the eight ball when it comes to Osimhen’s signature.

Foram nove gols no Mundial de 1950. Ele faleceu no dia11 de maio de 1996 aos 74 anos, e em 2021 completaria 100 anos.

Além disso, o craque marcou 301 gols pelo Cruz-Maltino em 429 partidas. Em 1948, o jogador ergueu a taça do Campeonato Sul-Americano de Campeões, no Chile, competição de onde surgiu a atual Copa Libertadores.

Pela Seleção Brasileira, o ex-jogador tem números impressionantes sendoo terceiro maior artilheiro da Copa América, com 13 gols marcados. Ao todo, foram41 jogos, com 30 vitórias, 5 empates e 6 derrotas, um rendimento de 77,20%.

Alyssa Healy continued her prolific run-scoring form by plundering a 71-ball hundred on her way to an unbeaten 76-ball 112 as Australia surged to a record-breaking 18th ODI victory in a row with a nine-wicket hammering of Sri Lanka.Chamari Atapattu’s 103, her fifth ODI hundred and her second century of the tour following her T20I ton in Sydney, anchored Sri Lanka’s effort but the next-best score was 24 and they could still only post 8 for 195, which proved way short of giving Australia a challenge. A 3-0 series result was nothing less than expected, but Australia’s ruthlessness was impressive.Healy and Rachael Haynes, who backed up her maiden ODI century with 63 to take her tally to 237 runs in the series, cruised towards the target – although both were dropped in the same over off Achini Kulasuriya – before Haynes was out sweeping with 37 runs needed.Healy raced off the blocks in the chase and Australia’s fifty came up in the sixth over. She should have been dismissed on 68 but the chance was spilled at deep midwicket and Haynes was then given a life on 39, but even if held it’s unlikely the result would have differed.Healy’s third ODI hundred, which have all come in the last two years during which time she has averaged 57.15, came with captain Meg Lanning alongside her and a match-winning six was a fitting way for Australia to set their new record, surpassing the 17 wins in a row they managed between 1997 and 1999 under the captaincy of Belinda Clark.For the first time in the series, Sri Lanka were able to set a target and there was a promising foundation at 1 for 68 before Harshitha Madavi was smartly run out by Healy’s direct hit as she ran around from behind the stumps after a badly misjudged single. Glasner's dream debut in the Selhurst Park dugout, a resounding 3-0 win against strugglers Burnley, was swiftly followed up by a capitulation away to Tottenham – with late goals from Timo Werner, Cristian Romero and Son Heung-min cancelling out Eberechi Eze's opener.

Palace then conceded another late goal in their 1-1 draw against Luton Town the following game, which ultimately robbed them of a crucial three points. According to GMS, there is a possibility that Crystal Palace will look to sign Lewis Hall after his loan deal from Chelsea to Newcastle becomes permanent. Glasner is thought to want the Englishman, but there is one problem, as it is also likely that the Eagles could be rebuffed in their attempts.

Hall has struggled for game time since opting for a move to St. James' Park, but is rated highly by those in the game.

“Lewis Hall is a mere 18 years old, and though there is improvement to come and a few rough edges to be worked on, it is clear he is going to be a very special talent for us for years to come," said Pat Nevin, after a Hall performance against Palace last season.

"It isn’t easy getting a place in the Chelsea men’s first team at that age, but although he doesn’t have to battle with Ben Chilwell right now, to keep a full-back like Marc Cucurella out of the team is still incredibly impressive.

“Lewis’s willingness to get forward at every opportunity was incredible and he was desperately unlucky not to score the opener in the first half. Even this early on, it is hard not to think about sometime in the future when he could be flying down one flank and Reece James down the other, both to devastating effect. Phoebe Litchfield followed her impressive WBBL debut with a matchwinning performance two days later, becoming the youngest player to score a fifty in the WBBL, as the Sydney Thunder bounced back from their opening defeat with a seven-wicket victory against defending champions the Brisbane Heat.It was a case of youth and experience combining for the Thunder as 16-year-old Litchfield again joined forces with Alex Blackwell in a match-defining stand of 97 in 12 overs to follow their 68-run partnership in the defeat to the Sydney Sixers.They had come together with the chase wobbling on 3 for 52 after three wickets had fallen for eight runs. In the early stages of the stand the required rate pushed towards ten an over, but Blackwell kept Litchfield calm and a brace of late cuts broke the shackles.Each time the Heat started to squeeze again Litchfield or Blackwell were able to find a boundary. Litchfield’s half-century came from 47 balls in what became the final over of the match with Blackwell securing victory with a six.Litchfield will be back at school on Monday – and was heading back to Orange, about 250km west of Sydney, with her family straight after the match – following a weekend where she has been put on the global stage.”Alex was just saying keep calm because I was getting a bit nervous and I put us in a bad position but managed to get us out of there,” Litchfield told ESPNcricinfo. “I can’t believe the weekend, I didn’t know I was playing and I’m just really happy to be here.”The Thunder had been poor against the Sixers on opening night, but were far sharper all-round in this display. Entre jogos do Campeonato Pernambucano, Copa do Nordeste e Copa do Brasil, Alan Cardoso entrou em campo em 11 oportunidades com a camisa coral sendo titular em dez jogos. O lateral-esquerdo ainda anotou um gol na goleada diante do Ypiranga, por 4 a 0, pela Copa do Brasil.

O jovem de 23 anos se destaca em suas subidas ao ataque, mas também se sobressai na defesa. Ao todo nos 11 jogos disputados, o lateral soma 74 bolas recuperadas, 62 interceptações e 42 cortes.

Em entrevista coletiva concedida em março, Alan comemorava o bom começo no Santa e afirmava que vivia seu melhor momento da carreira.

– É o melhor momento da carreira, fico muito feliz com esse começo vestindo a camisa do Santa Cruz. Trabalhei bastante para que esse momento chegasse, encaixei bem desde a minha estreia. O grupo me recebeu bem e vem ajudando para a sequência do trabalho – disse o lateral na oportunidade.

Com o período sem jogos, o Santa Cruz só volta a campo no próximo dia 30 de maio já na sua estreia pela Série C. O primeiro compromisso é diante do Manaus, às 18h (de Brasília) na Arena da Amazônia.
