Afastando o discurso de pena ou apelo emocional para jogar na Chape, o zagueiro Nathan afirma que não assinou com o clube por este motivo e sim pelas competições ao longo do ano:

-Acredito que nenhum jogador que veio para cá veio por pena. Viemos porque somos profissionais e queremos disputar campeonatos de alto nível. Flocking to Twitter, many Manchester City supporters have been flooding to react to a development on Raheem Sterling which emerged on Friday.

Sterling has been called up to England’s 26-man squad for the European Championships and has arguably been one of the national side’s more important players since the beginning of qualifying.

However, at club level, the 26-year-old went through a dwindling patch of form with City over 2020/2021 – scoring less than half of the goals he managed in 2019/2020 (Transfermarkt).

There have even been rumours of his possible sale this summer, either for profit or as a makeweight to sign superstar striker Harry Kane.

Now, another development has emerged on Sterling, this time concerning his place in the England national team.

Journalist Sami Mokbel, writing for the Daily Mail, has claimed that the winger will be handed a start against Croatia by manager Gareth Southgate.

The Three Lions play Croatia in their opening Euro 2020 encounter three years after their famous World Cup semi-final clash in 2018.

Jurgen Klopp trusted Wijnaldum to carry out instructions to a tee after signing from Newcastle United in 2016, with the Dutchman making 237 appearances in all competitions, but Tielemans could be the heir to the throne.

After yet another impressive season in the league, Brendan Rodgers will be hoping to keep all of his squad together as well as adding a few more additions, but Stewart would like to see his former side sign Tielemans as he told Football FanCast exclusively:

“He’s been excellent all season and I’ve watched him play and he’s another player that I really admire.

“I think Tielemans would really enhance their squad and he’d walk straight into the team because he is someone with massive quality and ability.”

Liverpool will be looking to mount a serious challenge for the Premier League title next season when the likes of Jordan Henderson, Virgil van Dijk and Joe Gomez are all back fit and ready to play.

If they did manage to sign Tielemans then that would offer Klopp some frightening options in midfield with Fabinho, Henderson, Thiago and Curtis Jones already at the club.

O Fluminense realiza, na próxima quarta-feira, mais uma reunião de Tricolores fora do Rio de Janeiro. O evento será em São Luís, no Maranhão, das 14h às 19h. Após o encontro, todos seguirão em caravana para o Estádio Castelão, local da partida do Moto Club contra o Fluminense, pela primeira fase da Copa do Brasil.

A reunião, que terá a participação do ídolo Romerito – herói do título brasileiro de 1984 –, acontecerá no Restaurante e Pizzaria Fornalha Grill. No local, será montado um balcão de adesão ao Sócio Futebol e sorteio de brindes para os novos ou antigos sócios do clube. Os torcedores que não são associados poderão adquirir o plano sócio.

No início do mês, o ex-jogador também participou de um evento que foi realizado no Rio Branco, no Acre, ereuniu cerca de 400 pessoas na AABB e foi recheado de atrações. Eduardo Mitke, VP de Relações Institucionais, ressaltou a importância. Nesta ocasião, o clube conseguiu somar mais 100 sócios.
