A few miles from the town centre there is a banner proclaiming: “Lodges for hire, no hot tubs.” Proudly flaunting what you don’t have must be a peculiarly Yorkshire phenomenon.Negative advertising would surely have been Yorkshire’s best refuge as the crowd trailed out after Durham made 573 and Michael Richardson produced an entirely unflustered maiden Championship hundred batting: a specialist batsman and wickekeeper in waiting who regularly appears for Durham at No 8.Banners outside North Marine Road stating: “Nothing’s meant to come easy” or “It’s tough up north” would at least have helped to create the impression that it was all part of the grand design, and nothing at all to worry about, as Yorkshire’s bowlers, with the exception of the exemplary Ryan Sidebottom, foundered on a decent batting surface.Yorkshire’s charge to the title, for the time being at least, has stalled. Richardson, son of David Richardson, the ICC chief executive former South Africa wicketkeeper, guided Durham from an overnight 406 for 6, which had been galling enough, to the sort of total which barring something extraordinary has batted Yorkshire out of the game. They still need another 242 with seven wickets left to avoid the follow-on.It was not what most of a crowd of 6000 had come to see and they streamed out early, many heading back to dinner at their seaside guest houses, with troubled expressions. It could only get worse if they were offered a Lebanese starter.Yorkshire, 25.5 points ahead of Durham, who have a game in hand, must steel themselves for the likelihood that they will have to try to spend the last two days batting out time. Less than five overs later he had his hundred.”Game’s going nowhere, do they want to win or not?” asked one observer to his mate, as Richardson was actually advancing the game at quite a rate. He had already added 86 in 22 overs with Jamie Harrison for the ninth wicket and the follow-on figure was getting more daunting by the minute. Finally, he sallied down the pitch to Williamson’s offspin and hoisted him over long on for a second six – with a foot or two to spare – to reach his hundred. He was last out two balls later, skying Williamson into the leg side.”I wanted to take it out of Rushy’s hands as much as I could,” he said. “I thought I would make it my responsibility and take a few risks rather than just ticking over the strike. I was watching that last six just creep over the fielder’s head. The relief was quite evident because I have been waiting a while to get that hundred.”It could have been worse for Yorkshire. If Paul Collingwood, 74 not out overnight, had joined Mark Stoneman, Ben Stokes and Richardson in reaching 100, it would have been the first time in Yorkshire’s history that they had conceded four hundreds in a Championship innings. They were doubly grateful therefore for Sidebottom’s upheld lbw appeal after Collingwood had added only seven to his overnight score.Yorkshire’s reply, as stoutly as Williamson played, never possessed the same sense of security. But Borthwick bowled with more vigour and, if he dragged down short balls now and then, he did seem to be trying to spin the ball. It was this energy which had Phil Jaques caught at short leg in his first over. Durham’s close fielders felt in the game, and in his 25 overs Rashid never achieved that.

وعن قدوته من اللاعبين في طفولته، أفاد السنغالي الدولي: “في ذلك الوقت كان رونالدينيو والحاج ضيوف من السنغال، لقد كانا لاعبين بارزين، شاهدت مقاطع فيديو لهما لساعات وحاولت تقليد كل ما فعلاه”.

وأوضح ماني أنه حصل كذلك على قمصانهما: “أعطتني والدتي قميص الحاج ضيوف، وعندما كبرت قليلاً اشتريت بنفسي أحد قمصان رونالدينيو، عملت أكثر، وكسبت المال وادخرت من أجله، كان حلمًا أن أرتدي اسمه على ظهري، لم أرغب حتى في خلع القمصان، كنت أرتدي قميصًا مختلفًا كل يوم”.

وعن تواضعه وقيمه، أردف ماني: “لقد ولدت في قرية صغيرة في السنغال تسمى بامبالي، لقد نشأت وذهبت إلى المدرسة هناك، في ثقافتي، الوالدان مهمان للغاية، أنت تستمع إليهما، وتُظهر لهما الاحترام، أعتقد أن هذه القيم مهمة جدًا في كل شيء، جوانب الحياة وأنا ممتن لأنني نشأت بهذه الطريقة”.

وبشأن زيارته لبلده السنغال ورؤيته للحياة هناك خارج كرة القدم، علّق ماني: “لسوء الحظ، في كثير من الأحيان لم يكن من الممكن في المواسم الأخيرة أكثر من مرة في السنة، لأننا حصلنا على استراحة في منتصف الموسم مرة واحدة فقط خلال ثماني سنوات في إنجلترا، وكلما استطعت، أزور والدي وأصدقائي القدامى في بامبالي، قرية صغيرة، طريق طويل من أقرب مدينة”.

وشدد: “الحياة هناك مختلفة تمامًا عن أوروبا، أجد صعوبة في التعبير عن الكلمات، الثقافات مختلفة جدًا ووضع الناس هناك ليس سهلاً، هذا يبقيك على الأرض متواضعًا، عندما أكون هناك، أنا ساديو الصغير ألعب كرة القدم مع أصدقائي القدامى، ونستمتع معًا، دائمًا ما أستمتع حقًا بالعودة، تتكون بلدي من 17 مليون شخص من عشاق كرة القدم، وهم كلهم مشجعون لبايرن الآن، أعتقد أنك سترى الكثير من أعلام السنغال في ملعب أليانز أرينا هذا الموسم”.

وقال ميدو خلال تصريحات عبر برنامج “البريمو” المذاع على قناة “تن”: “لا توجد أي مفاوضات من الزمالك مع رمضان صبحي”.

وأضاف: “غير صحيح أننا تفاوضنا مع بيراميدز لضم فخر الدين بن يوسف، لم نهتم به أبدًا ولم نتحدث عنه”.

وعن مصير أحمد فتوح مع الفريق، قال: “فتوح واحد من كباتن النادي ولاعب زمالكاوي، ننتظر تخطي هذه الفترة، وعبد الواحد السيد سيجلس معه ومحمد صبحي من أجل تجديد عقودهما وسيصبحان من الفئة الأولى المتواجدة في الزمالك”.

وواصل: “أحمد سيد زيزو عقده مستمر مع الزمالك، هو أفضل لاعب في مصر، ولا يوجد أي تفكير في رحيله، هناك أشياء في حياتك ليست للبيع، زيزو واحد منها بالنسبة لنا، ولا نستمع لأي عروض له”.

وعن موقف الزمالك مع إمام عاشور، أوضح: “الزمالك لم يكن طرفًا في موضوع إمام، عندما تلقينا مكالمة أنه يُفكر في العودة لمصر أبلغناه أننا لن ندخل في مزاد، هو لاعب جيد جدًا ونتمنى التوفيق لأي ناد سينضم له”.

وحول مباراة القمة، قال: “الأهلي من المفترض أن يأخذ حذره من أسلوب اللعب أمام أوسوريو، لأن الأخير لديه أفكار داخل الملعب ويجري تغييرات كثيرة داخل الملعب (تتعب) أي مدير فني”.

وأكمل: “الطريقة التي يلعب بها الزمالك صعبة جدًا على أي فريق، لدينا ثقة كبيرة فيه، متفائلون خير أننا سنقدم مباراة جيدة أمام الأهلي”.

وأتم: “الأهلي أكثر استقرارًا وله أفضلية في الفوز باللقاء، معه مدرب متواجد منذ فترة طويلة ولديه لاعبين جيدين، ولكن طريقة لعب أوسوريو صعبة جدًا في الملعب”.

With the series at stake, Pakistan hit back strongly by posting a total well beyond Zimbabwe’s reach, thereby giving the final match greater context. Mohammad Hafeez led the way with an attacking, unbeaten 136 to lift Pakistan to 299, and although Zimbabwe had their moments in the chase, they failed to stretch Pakistan over a sustained period. A clump of wickets towards the end widened the gap between the two sides, as the margin of victory suggested.Both sides, while batting, were removed from their comfort zones. Pakistan didn’t have the safety net of a steady Misbah-ul-Haq innings for the other batsmen to bat around. A rare failure from Misbah gave Hafeez the chance to step up and guide the innings. Zimbabwe, for a change didn’t have the luxury of a solid opening stand in the face of a daunting total, and the middle order couldn’t cover the slack. Pakistan, though, responded better to the challenge.Put in to bat, Pakistan had a better idea of the kind the score needed to intimidate a confident Zimbabwe. Zimbabwe were guilty of dropping catches in the first ODI but those let-offs, fortunately, didn’t cost them in the end. While they were relatively better today, one lapse cost them plenty of runs. When on 30, Hafeez went for the slog sweep but as the ball dipped towards deep square leg, Brian Vitori was a touch too late on the dive. He couldn’t hang on and Zimbabwe were made to rue the missed chance.Hafeez’s driving, flicking and defense against the seamers was solid and he used his feet against Prosper Utseya, lofting two sixes over long-on. He launched Elton Chigumbura over the same region as he progressed to his fifty off 65 balls. Following Misbah’s departure – he limped to 3 off 23 balls – Pakistan had lost all their experienced batsmen, but Umar Amin stepped up to give Hafeez the support he needed. Amin looked busy at the crease, trying to push the singles and attempting the odd slog, looking on nervously at his senior partner who urged him to play straighter.Amin opened up at the start of the batting Powerplay, taken in the 36th over, clipping Utseya wide of midwicket and then launching him over cover the next ball. He found the gaps with ease through the off side and reached his maiden fifty in ODIs off just 61 balls. Pakistan smashed 43 in the Powerplay without losing a wicket, setting the platform for their late-innings acceleration.Amin was eventually run-out from a direct hit by Tendai Chatara, but not before adding a valuable 129 with Hafeez. Hafeez made sure his side didn’t lose the initiative, like they did on Tuesday with a collapse, batting positively and finding the gaps. He had all but bettered his highest ODI score (139*), made on the same ground two years ago. A blazing cameo from Shahid Afridi took Pakistan to the doorstep of 300.Hamilton Masakadza and Vusi Sibanda had, until this game, produced opening stands of 53, 50 and 107 so it was a relief for Pakistan that the openers disbanded early in the third over. Masakadza found early momentum with some powerful boundaries off Mohammad Irfan before he was beaten for pace by Junaid Khan, losing his off stump. Much depended on Brendan Taylor to lead the way. He and Sean Williams weren’t afraid to take on the spinners, reverse sweeping them regularly. They targeted Pakistan’s main bowler, Saeed Ajmal, in his first over, playing the conventional and reverse sweeps to give the chase some momentum.Taylor kept Zimbabwe’s hopes alive with a positive fifty – his first in 13 innings – and it got to the stage where Pakistan were in need of a breakthrough. Ajmal provided that when he beat an advancing Williams, getting him stumped. Taylor had added 70 with Williams and 65 with Malcolm Waller, but all along they failed to keep with the rising asking rate.The slide started towards the end of the batting Powerplay – taken after 35 overs – when Taylor top-edged a sweep off Ajmal, only to be caught one-handed by the 7ft 1″ Irfan. Any other fielder, it would have been a boundary. Zimbabwe lost three wickets for one run, as Junaid ran through the lower order. Zimbabwe were rolled over with more than seven overs to spare.
