Mohsin Khan, Pakistan’s chief selector, will serve as the team’s interim coach for the series against Sri Lanka beginning later this month. Mohsin steps in to fill the vacancy created by Waqar Younis’ departure after the tour of Zimbabwe as the PCB is in the process of appointing a full-time coach. Ijaz Ahmed will be the team’s assistant coach.The PCB committee tasked with finding the new head coach had shortlisted five names for the position out of a list of thirty-seven applicants. Twelve foreign and 25 local coaches had applied for the job. Those in contention for the top job reportedly include Dean Jones, Dermot Reeve and Aaqib Javed. The committee hadn’t finalised on a candidate, though, in time to take over before the Test, ODI and Twenty20 matches against Sri Lanka in the UAE.Mohsin was appointed chief selector in March 2010 and was also involved in the PCB’s fast-track coaching program at National Cricket Academy, where he coached batsmen. Colonel Naushad Ali will take charge as associate manager for the Sri Lanka series and the tour of Bangladesh. He will function as manager for the Tests against Sri Lanka, though, in the absence of Naveed Akram Cheema, who will take over as manager for the limited-overs leg. . Cheema, a PCB governing board member and also the managing director of WAPDA, was appointed manger for the Zimbabwe series, replacing Intikhab Alam.The Pakistan squad will assemble in Lahore for a pre-series camp between November 10 and 13.

What was the story?

The Magpies signed the Switzerland international back in 2013 when Alan Pardew was boss, giving him a three-year deal after seeing him impress in a trial.

At the time, reserve team manager, Willie Donachie said: “Kevin is strong, confident, skilful and a very good prospect.” But after making just five appearances for the first-team, Mbabu was sent out on loan, before completing a permanent move back home to Switzerland to BSC Young Boys for just £106k.

Since then, he has played numerous times in the Champions League and Europa League, and is now playing for Bundesliga side VfL Wolfsburg.

Rafa’s mistake

Whilst it’s always easy with hindsight to say that a club should never have let a certain young player go, Mbabu’s raw talents even in his short time with Newcastle surely warranted more patience and time.

His problems with injuries of course didn’t help his cause, but his promising display against Chelsea in 2015 showcased the kind of potential he had. The Independent gave him a seven match rating, and said that he enjoyed “an impressive starting debut”, praising him for his “series of threatening runs down the flank”.

When you look at the fact the Magpies have mixed and matched with the likes of Emil Krafth, Javier Manquillo and DeAndre Yedlin in recent times for the starting right-back slot, it’s a painful reminder of how if they had just kept the faith and ridden out the bad times, they could have had a star in the making in Mbabu.

Barbieri conseguiu resgatar o bom futebol de alguns jogadores, sem contar a ajeitada que deu no setor defensivo da equipe. Foram apenas sete gols sofridos até agora – em jogos oficiais – desde que assumiu o comando técnico, de forma interina.

Tanto Barbieri quanto a diretoria do Flamengo despista quanto o assunto é sua efetivação. Para eles, isso não muda o trabalho que vem sendo realizado, mas o treinador já foi informado que está seguro no cargo. Porém, o discurso segue apenas na confiança do trabalho.

Quando assumiu o cargo, em paralelo com a saída de Paulo César Carpegiani, o dirigente pediu a chance para o técnico. A escolha, por ora, foi a mais sensata e acertada até aqui.

Com Maurício Barbieri, são16 jogos oficiais, com dez vitórias, cinco empates e uma derrota. No amistoso de estreia, diante do Atlético-GO, também vitória, por 3 a 1. Ao todo, foram assinalados 27 gols pró e apenas 8 contra.

الرئيس التنفيذي لـ أتلتيكو مدريد أنخيل جيل مارين، علق على مستوى التحكيم في مباراة الديربي، خلال تصريحاته للموقع الرسمي، وقال: “أحترم التحكيم ومقتنع بنواياهم، لكن أي شخص يرى الموقف من الخارج، يمكنه رؤية ما يحدث لعقود من الزمن”.

وأوضح: “ما يحدث واضح للغاية، لم يعد مفاجئًا، ريال مدريد نادٍ يتمتع بشخصية قوية، مع العديد من الاهتمامات حوله، يخلقون مثل هذا الضغط على الحكام لدرجة أنه من الطبيعي أن يؤثر على الأشخاص الذين يجب عليهم اتخاذ القرارات وتحقيق العدالة”.

وأكمل: “إنهم يدركون ما ينتظرهم إذا تعرضوا للانتقاد من ريال مدريد بسبب خطأ ما، من المعتاد شن حملة ضد أولئك الحكام إذا حدث منهم أي خطأ”.

وأشار: “كان الإنذار الثاني لـ سيبايوس واضحًا ولا شك فيه، ووفقًا للوائح، كان لابد أن يشهر الحكم البطاقة الحمراء، وأن تلعب ضد ريال مدريد على ملعبهم وهم منقوصين، فهذا يعطينا الأفضلية، لكننا لم نحصل على حقوقنا”.

جيرارد بيكيه، قلب دفاع برشلونة، هو أحد لاعبي برشلونة الذين لديهم دائمًا دافع إضافي عندما يلعب الكلاسيكو، وتحدث المدافع قبل المواجهة المرتقبة أمام ريال مدريد.

ويحل ريال مدريد ضيفًا على برشلونة في ملعب “كامب نو” يوم الأحد ضمن منافسات الدوري الإسباني “الليجا”.

ونشرت صحيفة “موندو ديبورتيفو” الإسبانية، تصريحات بيكيه وقال: “في مباريات الكلاسيكو، تكون النتيجة أكثر من ثلاث نقاط”.

وأضاف: “يمنحك الفوز على الخصم الأبدي الكثير من التشجيع والقوة والثقة، إذا فزت بالكلاسيكو يمنحك كل هذا الدافع لمواجهة المباريات التالية، في الكلاسيكو نحظى بوقت ممتع”.

وأكد قائد برشلونة:”في الكلاسيكو، لا يهم كيف تأتي، لا يوجد فريق مفضل للفوز، الكلاسيكو منفصل تمامًا عن الديناميكيات، لقد مررنا ببعض لحظات الأزمة، لكننا نتعافى، وصل كلانا بديناميكيات مماثلة تمامًا”.

O estádio tem previsão de entrega para 2018, e tudo está sendo erguido por uma empresa de engenharia, a Imbeg. A ideia de Luciano Vianaé “fechar o anel” do novo alçapão e, assim, aumentar a capacidade para 15 mil – poderia, desta forma, receber públicos de Campeonato Brasileiro e Copa do Brasil.

– Fizemos uma permuta, e entregamos o Godofredo Cruz, com uma área de 25 mil m² para a Imbeg – sim, o tradicional estádio deixará de ser do Cano. Pelo acordo, a área do estádio, que fica numa região valorizada, foi trocada pelo terreno e pela construção do CT.

O presidente do clube garante que o clube está regular nos âmbitos municipal, estadual e federal. E, com salários em dia, espera voltar à primeira divisão do Carioca e, em breve, levar a equipe de volta ao cenário nacional.

– Quando assumi, tínhamos esse objetivo. O mais rapidamente possível voltar à Primeira Divisão e, consequentemente voltar a disputar o Brasileiro. Queremos fazer com que a equipe volte à Série B do Brasileiro – almeja.

It is more than likely that Virender Sehwag has played his last innings on the England tour. It is understood that Sehwag has not completely recovered from the shoulder surgery he underwent immediately after the IPL in May. Sehwag, who struggled to make any impact in the two Tests matches he played, had a quiet word with the two on-tour national selectors – Narendra Hirwani and Surendra Bhave – and the team management, and the decision was then conveyed to the BCCI top brass.
